Why It’s Impossible To Get A Reservation At Your Favorite Tampa Restaurant
UPDATE: We have some exciting news! Look back to this page soon for an official update and response about this issue.
If you’ve been living in the Tampa Bay area you’ve seen a huge difference when trying to book reservations at your favorite local restaurants. It’s become almost impossible to find reservations at some of your favorite spots the same week you want to visit.
For some more famous restaurants like Bern’s Steak House, previously you could book a few weeks out and still get a reservation. Now, it’s almost impossible to get a reservation unless you book it two months ahead of time and wake up at 12:00 a.m. in the morning.
Bern’s website says, “We take reservations on a rolling 60 day availability for booking both by phone and on our website under ‘make a reservation’.” So, let’s say you want to stay up late to book your reservations at Bern’s Steak House. Even if you stay up till 12:00 a.m. to book your specific time slot by 12:03 a.m. all of the reservations on that new date have been completely booked. This frustrating issue has left many locals feeling very upset.
One person wrote online about her frustration specifically after setting her alarm clock to wake up at 12:00 a.m. to book a reservation Bern’s for her upcoming wedding anniversary. She wake up but didn’t login until 12:05 a.m. and everything was already taken. Many chalk this up to the new boom in population size but after all the complaints we found a crazy reason why all these restaurants are booked so quickly.
There’s a website where you can buy and sell reservations for Bern’s Steak House! There’s speculation that this website and others might use bots to book up all the time slots immediately when they open up leaving none left for you. We absolutely love Bern’s Steak House and hope this situation is fixed soon.
