Creating a healthy work-life balance can be difficult. Many people find mental and physical health to outweigh salary when evaluating their workplace. In fact, burnout and poor work/life balance are the top reasons for resignations across the country. A study done by coworkingcafe.com tells us that St. Pete is one of the best cities for work-life balance. The study ranked some of the largest U.S. cities by “their capacity to foster a healthy work/life balance." A few of their factors included economic, cultural, and infrastructural factors, as well as their psychological influence.

Even a recent survey from The Hill pointed out that half of Gen Z workers feel burnout at least once a week. This survey asked over a 1,000 young professionals about their mental health in the workplace. The survey indicated those workers who are experiencing mental health challenges may in part be linked to financial stress. This is why finding a company with a healthy work-life balance is super important. But balancing work and life differs from each person and place. For some, it can be important to have the opportunity to work remotely, others focus on amenities like health insurance or green spaces. Actually, St. Pete ranked pretty high for remote work and affordability. Jacksonville ranked #25 in the study, and Tampa was way far back at #53.
