Florida Rapper Released From Prison Early After Stealing Over $24M
Baby Blue of the group Pretty Ricky has been released from prison early. In February of 2022, he plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He was accused of filing fake loan applications to obtain money meant for small businesses during the pandemic. He received more than $24M in PPP loans. “PPP” stands for the U.S. Paycheck Protection Program through the coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
Baby Blue was originally supposed to serve 20 months but was released February 7th from Orlando’s Coleman Prison. The early release was thanks to the “First Step Act” which was introduced by President Donald Trump in 2018. This act allows eligible inmates to “participate in recidivism reduction programs and earn credit towards early release.”
Blue released a statement saying, “I appreciate all the love and support from my family, friends and fans! New album dropping soon! Wrote a book too! Might call that b*tch ‘How To Hustle’ or ‘Blue Magic.’ Officially changing my name to BIGG MONEY BLUE! Shoutout to my n-ggas at Coleman Prison! I’m bout to get back to the MONEY! LET’S GO!”
