A Tampa contestant had a pretty good run last month on Jeopardy and now a USF professor is looking to do the same.
The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee website today profiled assistant professor of history Jonathan Scott Perry. He visited Los Angeles while on winter break and made it on the show. His first (of hopefully many) airs tonight.
Watch Jonathan Scott Perry, associate professor of history at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, compete on “Jeopardy!” tonight at 7 pm.

It doesn’t look too promising though. In the article he mentioned that he never quite got the hang of how to use the clicker to ring in and answer the question. He used a toilet paper rod to practice his ringing in technique after reading online that it’s the closest thing to … the real thing.
It’s been 2 months since the taping that we’ll see tonight. He used one word to describe the experience… terrifying. So I have a feeling you might want to tune in tonight. It doesn’t seem likely we’ll see him on Jeopardy tomorrow night. [Source: USF]
