Can you afford to buy a house in Tampa Bay? This is a question many are having to try to figure out, and the news isn’t great. In fact the number is considerably higher than it was last year. According to RubyHome, a luxury real estate company, that number has ballooned to over 6 figures.
According to the company the income needed for home ownership has increased by over $31,000. They say now $113,000 annually is needed. Just last year they said $74,000 was needed but due to many economic factors that number has jumped considerably.
For most people the raise in interest rates in the biggest contributing factor. In early summer of 2020 interest rates were around 3% now they have more than doubled to around 7%, meaning a lot more income is needed to afford the same home. The income increase is about $7,000 more than the national average. The Tampa Bay housing market has cooled down a bit, but remains red hot and one of the most sought after in the US.
One of the most alarming facts with this new data that came out is that the average income in the US hasn’t changed very much. Yet the cost of home ownership has. This Is The Thing Floridians Hate The Most
We get how easy it is to hate on things, sports rivals, certain foods, traffic, the list goes on. In fact, a lot of people bond over their common dislikes. There’s even an app for it. It’s called “Hater,” it was first launched in 2017. It’s the one dating app where users take “hates” into account when matching with people. Recently, the app looked into the different dislikes in each state and compiled the data. What do you think the most hated thing in Florida is? Snowbirds? Mosquitoes?
