Blockbuster Is Back in St. Pete… in a Little Way
It’s Friday. Long gone are those fun trips on a Friday night to Blockbuster in hopes that the big new release of the week was still in stock and hadn’t been rented out yet. You’d do that walk up to the wall, scan the alphabetical list of movies and hope there was a DVD or VHS behind that cover box. Remember the joy you felt when you got that last one?

Unfortunately, I don’t own a DeLorean to go back in time, but you can experience a miniature version of the experience in St. Pete. “Little Free Blockbuster” brings the nostalgia and a chance for you to swap movies. They are about the size of newspaper vending machines. You’ll spot them easily as they have that classic Blockbuster blue and yellow color scheme. They just ask when you take one, you leave another behind.
Please be kind and rewind. Actually, leave the VHS tapes in the attic. These boxes just store DVDs. You’ll find the box at Kingston St. North between 34th and 36th Avenue. [Source: I Love The Burg]
