Tampa fans we have potention QB1, Baker Mayfield’s Message to Tampa Bay! As a Buccaneer fan, I’m always excited for the beginning of a new season. Vying for QB1 can’t start until the ink is on the paper. It is! We’ve been in our current, underestimated state much longer than the glory years, so this is familiar. We kinda like being counted out by the professional yappers. Talk that talk, #6! Baker Mayfield’s Message to Tampa Bay is below. And so it begins.
Fans Know How to Keep It Positive
Baker Mayfield is about to turn 28 years old and that equates to youth. If he can perform, this may be our chance for the most consistent spot over the next 4 or 5 seasons. Bucs quarterbacks have mostly been well into their 30’s. Short of Shaun King (23) and Josh Freeman (21) our best at the position have been a little older. Brady hit 90 years old, didn’t he? Okay, 45, but still! Brad Johnson, our other Superbowl winning QB was 34 when he hoisted Lombardi. Jeff Garcia took a shot after his stints in San Francisco, Cleveland, Detroit, and Philly, and got the Buc’s spot at 37.

Same Swagger – Different Man
If this was the Baker that went to Cleveland, coming to Tampa (with all that the Bay offers a young, impressionable gent), I’d be worried. However this version of the QB is a husband of 4 years, with Emily Wilkinson, and that can keep him centered. There was a lot of pressure on those young, Cleveland shoulders. After Carolina didn’t pan out, Baker had some serious fight for the the Rams. That had to help his case in making it here to Tampa.
More Importantly – What Do We Call Him
Around the radio ranch, we’ve started calling the QB “Shake N Bake“. Don’t like that one?
Okay some of our gospel lovers are leaning on “Bake 6“. Huh? Nice melody?
Whatever we call him, I hope its protected behind our O-Line or we’ll be calling him Screamin’ B!
