Wander Franco #5 and Manuel Margot #13 of the Tampa Bay Rays celebrate winning a game against the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field on April 12, 2023 in St Petersburg, Florida.

Are you a betting person? Not many saw this ridiculously good start for the Tampa Bay Rays season coming. Yesterday’s win put the team at 13-0. That ties the Major League Baseball record. So when the Rays play Toronto tonight, a new all-time record could be set. Had you had the confidence to put a $10 wager on the Rays having a start like this, how much money do you think you would have made?

Bookies.com ran the calculations and put the odds at about 180-1 of the Rays having a start like this. That means your $10 bet would be worth around $1,800.

You probably would’ve gotten some strange looks had you made that bet. They currently put those kinds of odds on things like Kanye West, The Rock or Marco Rubio winning the 2024 Presidential Election. Or, a little closer to home, the odds for Tampa Bay Buccaneers incoming QB Baker Mayfield to win MVP next season.

Maybe today’s the day to go put that bet on Baker Mayfield?[Source: Bookies.com]

9 New Foods at Rays Games for 2023

  • Little Greek

I’m a huge fan of Little Greek. I love their chicken souvlaki and they have really great fries too… I always substitute them for the rice. They’ll have their Tampa Bay Signature Greek Salad in the third base food hall.

  • Omaha Steaks

Look for their burgers and brats throughout Tropicana Field this season.

  • Daddies Donuts

Another local vendor on this year’s lineup.  They’ll serve freshly made donuts in Right Field Street, the Third Base Food Hall and the Rays club.

  • Beans & Barlour

Love creative milkshakes?  Look for them in the Third Base Concourse or at the Budweiser Porch in Center Field.

  • Sip Shine

Try a Moonshine Slushie with moonshine whiskey and fresh fruit flavors.  Find them at the Third Base Food Hall, the Rays Club and Ballpark & Rec.

  • MingsBings

Iron Chef Ming Tsai has a  vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free handheld pocket.  Find them at Grand Slam in Right Field, Beach Drive BBQ, and new this year in their Suite A-La-Carte Menu.

  • Pig + Potato

Head to the Center Field Porch to get their Footlong Tater Tot or a Pretzel Dog.  Keep an eye out for their house-made mustard sauce.  Only 98 pretzel dogs will be made for each game so if you want one, go in the first couple innings!

  • Beach Drive BBQ

A new one at the First Base Food Hall.  Try their Loaded Pulled Pork Nachos, Brisket Banh Mi Sandwiches and Pulled Pork Sliders.

  • The Stinger Dog

This one’s a throwback to honor  the Rays 25th Anniversary season.  This one was served up during the Devil Rays era.  It’s a Nathan’s Hot Dog with chili and cheese sauce served at Whoa Doggy’s locations.
