Tampa Coach Brings Baseball To 3000 Kids

Steve Shear, a longstanding Tampa coach brings baseball to 3,000 kids and it starts with our own Rays.   Imagine getting to mix your passion with your purpose.  Coaching little league baseball and softball for 25 years, here in Tampa, has created the passion.  Steve simply loves the game.  The Rays defeat the Pirates, 8 – 1, and the win serves as the starting line.  Now Coach Shear is on his trek to attend ball games in all 30 MLB parks over the summer.  With this trip is $1,000 worth of tickets for each game, that will go to local organizations, in each city.

With approaching retirement, this move is such a giving gesture that Coach has been able to coordinate discounted tickets which allows 100 kids to join him for each game.  His first entourage joined from the Tampa Police Athletics League as the Rays continued this great start to the season on Wednesday.  In other markets the Boys & Girls Clubs, and youth camp organizations will benefit from his kindness.

How Can You Help Without Breaking The Bank?

There is a way to help the kids with refreshments for the big game.  You know the song “buy some peanuts and crackerjacks“, but a hot dog and ice cream is a great option too!  100 kids, hopped up on cotton candy?  Ouch.  There is a go fund me, page if anyone would like to chip in for the multitude’s snacks.  A great day, at the ballpark, is on the way for many kids.  Great play and it starts here in Tampa Bay.  Salute Coach Shear.  Enjoy the fun.
