A professional women’s soccer team is coming to the Tampa Bay! The USL Super League will give the Tampa Bay area our first women’s professional sports team. Although the name, team colors and logo haven’t been decided yet, they plan on playing in the fall of 2024. The team will start at a temporary location until a permanent stadium is built.
“This is about inspiring, energizing, and uniting our Tampa Bay community. We’re ready to build a team that not only wins on the field, but also makes a positive difference off the field. To us, success comes when you become part of the fabric of your community.”
— Darryl Shaw, USL Super League Tampa Bay Co-Owner
Tampa Bay is not the only confirmed city for the USL Super League. Other cites competing in the league are Charlotte, Fort Worth, Lexington, Phoenix, Spokane, and Washington, D.C. More franchises will be announced (pending completion of stadium projects) at a later date. Those cites would be Oakland, Chattanooga, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, and Madison. [Source: WTSP]
