I love music festivals and have been to many here in Florida! I actually just attended one here in Tampa last weekend. If I knew how to swim, going to an underwater music festival would be on my bucket list! If this is something you would do, sadly you missed it this year. Saturday, a special concert took place in the Florida Keys to highlight the reef protection off Big Pine Key.
Several hundred divers and snorkelers attended the The 39th annual Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival. This festival featured multiple types of instruments. A local radio station was broadcast live underwater and their playlist included “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles, “Fins” by Jimmy Buffett and “The Little Mermaid” theme song.
People who attended the underwater music festival also explored Looe Key Reef’s marine life, coral formation and variety of tropical fish. The under-the-sea festival’s purpose is to teach people how to protect the reef’s ecosystem and about eco-conscious diving practices.
This is something that happens every year, so it’s not to late to experience it. The lower keys chamber is who put’s the event on every year, so I would check in with them for the next one. Is this something you would do? Feel free to email me [email protected].
4 Florida Experiences Make List Of Some Of The Best The Nation
Looking for some new experience to try this summer? There are many experiences here in Florida, but there are four that made the list of the best in the nation. The list comes from Tripadvisor, which put together the list of Best Overall Experiences in the United States. What’s really cool about this list is that is Traveler’s Choice Awards. There are a couple of the experiences on the list that are right here in the Tampa Bay area.
Here is what Tripadvisor says about the list, “We award Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best to experiences and attractions with a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from our community over a 12-month period. Each winner has passed our rigorous trust and safety standards. Fewer than 1% of Tripadvisor’s 8 million listings are awarded Best of the Best, signifying the highest level of excellence in travel.”
Some of the experiences on the list range from going on a snowmobile adventure, to zip lining in Hawaii, to whitewater rafting. The #1 experience in the United States is a full-day tour that takes you all around Oahu in Hawaii. We know there are many adventures to have here in Florida.
