The Majority Of Residents In This Florida Community Are Registered Sex Offenders
No matter where you live in the world, it’s alway important that you protect yourself. I stay in St. Petersburg and im sure there are all types of former and current criminals around me. I have my concealed carry and I am always aware of my surroundings. There is a community called Miracle Village where the vast majority of residents are sex offenders. Miracle Village is in South Florida and people who live in nearby towns felt uneasy at first.
The community was founded in 2009 by Pastor Dick Witherow, who worked as a prison chaplain for many years. He wanted to create a place where convicted sex offenders could live and be rehabilitated. Witherow also wanted to educate and reduce prejudice against those who have been convicted of sexual offenses.
About 200 people reside there and they receive about 10 to 20 housing requests per week. Most residents are men who live alone but there are some families. According to city rules, residents must not be repeat offenders! The next town over is called Pahokee and some residents who reside there were very against their neighbors! I understand, mine and my families safety is important!
According to the Easter Herald, many have accepted the existence of the city and believe that positive work is being done there. No resident has been accused of sexual misconduct since it was established. I have a question for you, Do you believe sex offenders can be rehabilitated? Email me, Babs@wild941.com.
