A missing Florida couple has been found dead. Reports tell us that Albert and Cynthia Allen were found deceased in their vehicle.  According to investigators, the couple crashed their vehicle which was located in Brooksville off of Powell Road. Brooksville is about an hour away from where I live in St. Petersburg.

The Hernando County Sheriffs office tell us that the couple was reported missing Tuesday, which was the day before Hurricane Idalia hit. A family member reported them missing because they noticed their vehicle was not at their home.

Why was this a concern?

Police say Albert Allen has dementia and is deaf and his wife Cynthia recently had a stroke and was partially paralyzed. They should have never been out driving on the road by themselves, especially when a hurricane was near. Also neither of them took any of their medications with them when they left.

How Were They Found?

Police were able to find them by locating Alberts phone. His phone was pinged within a 3 mile radius of Hernando Oaks. Hernando Oaks is located in Brooksville off of U.S. 41. A group that searches for missing people was in Brooksville early Thursday morning searching for them. The couple was found very shortly after the team arrived.

The group that searched for Allen and his wife is called “We Are The Essentials.” According to their website, They do not seek fame or fortune. “Instead, we come together utilizing our skills to bring closure to families needing assistance finding their loved ones. In these cases, we have self-funded the investigations thus far but are now an official 501c3 in the name of “We Are The Essentials For The Missing” . To offset the cost of the investigations, we accept donations and rewards on cases we solve.”

There are so many people going missing and unfortunately this situation ended tragically. May they both rest in peace. If you having a missing family member and need help getting the information out, email me Babs@wild941.com
