When will parents learn that you can't leave your kids in a locked hot car? Unfortunately, we see this happen several times a year but thankfully this time the kids were saved by police. A mother from St. Petersburg, Florida was arrested after she intentionally left her two children in a locked hot car. She left her kids while the shopped at Walmart. Then she the nerve to ask for air conditioning while in the backseat of the cop car! She kept saying how hot the car was and needed some air.

How long were the kids in the locked hot car:

Police say that when she was arrested she didn't show any concern for her children's well-being. The victims are ages three and six, and were left in their mother's hot car for almost 30 minutes.  It was also, a sweltering 91 degrees outside in the parking lot. After Nyakobo Mar, 30, was arrested for leaving her two small children in a hot locked car, police say she requested air conditioning in the police vehicle. Mar begged cops to turn up the air conditioning in the patrol car. This happened she was while being taken to jail for child abuse. Police confirmed that their ages were three and six who were “left in the vehicle without the engine running, windows closed, and parked in the sun on black asphalt," according to the Smoking Gun.

The two children were left in the hot car for almost 30 minutes before fire and rescue personnel arrived. That's when Mar returned to her vehicle and was arrested. She seemed to not care that she left her kids in the locked car with no air conditioning. She was arrested on a pair of felony child abuse counts and was also charged with resisting, arrested when they tried to handcuff her. The children were taken to a local hospital for treatment and were then taken into child welfare since they have no family or friends in the area. Mar is currently being held in the county jail in lieu of $20,500 bond.
