Just admit it, we have all thought about it. How much better we would have done if we had a second chance at high school. Whether it be the grades you would have gotten or how much better at sports you would have been, everyone thinks about what could happen if we were able to go back. Well, one Florida woman actually tried to do it.
Dakota Adams of Tavares, Florida was arrested on Monday for and incident on August 25th where she was posing as a high schooler. After being advised over the radio that an adult was trespassing on school property, a school deputy approached Adams by the auditorium and asked for her ID. When Adams was asked to present her ID, she replied by saying she didn't have her ID and that she was a 19 year-old senior. Authorities would later find out that she was in fact 21 and was not a student. She is now being charged with trespassing on school property and knowingly providing false information to law enforcement. While many may think this isn't a huge deal, others realize things could potentially get worse if the problem continued.
Another Adult Posing As A Student
This story comes two months after another incident in Nebraska where a 26-year-old man had been apprehended and is now facing charges related to sexual offenses. Zachary Scheich, of Lincoln, posed as a high schooler and infiltrated two separate schools within the state. Scheich faces two counts of sexual assault, use of an electronic device, and one count of sex trafficking of a minor from what started as a fraud investigation. The nature of these allegations raises significant concerns regarding the safety and well-being of the students involved.
The motives of Adams are still unclear, but many parents are concerned. The resent trend of adults posing as students is causing school systems to rethink their enrollment protocols.
