Florida Man Arrested For Torching Girlfriend’s Car Who’s Also His Cousin
Melvin Alain Cintron, 37, was arrested by Miami-Dade police Wednesday after he allegedly lit his girlfriend’s car on fire! The car was actually owned by his ex-girlfriend, who also happens to be his cousin. Yes, this is another Florida man story but he’s sleeping with his cousin! Cintron was caught on camera lighting his cousin’s Jaguar XE sedan on fire and left but he accidentally left his cellphone behind.
Florida Man Torched His Girlfriend’s Car Who’s Also His Cousin:
According to news channel Local10, Police tried to interview Cintron’s girlfriend and cousin, but couldn’t get ahold of her after several failed attempts. After months of evading cops they interviewed her and she admitted to lying to investigators. She initially told them the car caught fire as she drove home because she was afraid of what Cintron would do. Whenever she did speak to investigators he made her put the conversation on speaker phone so he could listen. Cintron is very controlling and wants to know everything that’s going on behind the scenes. What’s even more crazy, is that Cintron is her cousin that she’s having a sexual relationship with!
The woman opened up to police and said she’s scared of Cintron for many reason but partly because he carries a fully automatic gun. Cintron brags to her that the gun is equipped with a double-drum high capacity magazine and refers to as the gun’s “t—–s.” This isn’t the first time that she’s been controlled and treated badly by Cintron. She also told police that he even stole her purse and left her stranded at a Marketplace after they both got into an argument. They were both arguing because he thought she was flirting with the bartender. Inside the purse she had all of her sensitive information, credit cards and $1,200 in cash. Police issued a warrant and located Cintron arresting him at gunpoint Wednesday. He’s being charged with second-degree arson and third-degree grand theft.
Here Is The Most Stolen Car In Florida And It's Not A Kia
I live in St. Petersburg and have yet to have my Kia Stolen. I hope it never happens, I love my Kia! While it is the most stolen car in New York, it is not in Florida. Have you ever had your car stolen? Isn’t it the worst feeling? Im surprise it still happens especially since many of us have Onstar. That means the vehicle can be located!
The National Insurance Crime Bureau put out a report this year that list which vehicles have the highest theft rates nationwide. Can you guess what car is the most stolen in Florida? It’s a big car and I had no idea that people are just easily able to steal these. What’s shocking is that according to NICB’s report, full size trucks have the highest theft rates.
Apparently vehicle theft rates have soared since the start of COVID-19. Whats good is that more than 85% of the cars that were stolen in 2022 were recovered. You must keep your doors locked, and never leave the car running. These are small steps you can take to prevent your car from being stolen.
Also stop leaving valuables in the car. When you leave a purse or money on the seats, that persuades thieves to break in and steal your stuff, or worst take you car.
Have You Ever Had Your Car Stolen?
I have never, but it came close. When I was partying in Ybor one night, someone actually broke into my car. The door handle was missing, also the gears were broken. Kia’s are easy to steal and I believe they only left because the parking lot attendant was coming.
I felt very violated after the fact. I can’t imagine what that feeling would have been like if someone actually took my car. According to the NICB President David Glawe ,“Vehicle theft disrupts lives, causes financial hardship and undermines community safety.”
Stop stealing. and buy your own car! Below are the top 5 cars stolen in Florida, including
the most stolen car in Florida. The data below is from cars stolen in 2022.
