2 Florida Women Arrested For Tossing Baby And Breaking Arm
We still have 3 months left in the year, so there is still a decent amount of time for people to make their case for their respective End of the Year awards. One thing is for sure though, you can officially rule out Brianna Lafoe and Sierrah Newell as Mother’s of the Year. These two Daytona Beach women are now facing charges for battery and child abuse after tossing around a baby.
The Incident
According to an arrest affidavit, Lafoe and Newell were outside of the Coyote Ugly Saloon around midnight flipping a baby upside down and tossing him in the air “like a toy”. It was clear the 19-year-old Lafoe and 20-year-old Newell were intoxicated, so witnesses started video recording the two in the act. This is when things started to get violent. The one who recorded the incident, was met with threats when they tried confronting Lafoe.
Another witness stated that Lafoe tried to hit them because they were being videotaped. Lafoe also held by his ankles and flipped the baby upside down, then attempted to strike them with a crutch that Newell had been using a second time. When police arrived, they were shown a video taken by one of the witnesses which showed Lafoe swinging the baby aggressively and shaking him by his ankles while Newell sat on the ground watching.
Good thing the witnesses took video, because this was enough reason for police to take action. After police arrested Lafoe and Newell, the baby was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. According to the affidavit, the baby had a mark on his X-ray that indicated he could have a broken arm. The affidavit did not specify who the mother of the child was, but both Lafoe and Newell were charged with Child Abuse. Lafoe also faces a charge of battery.
