Florida High School Coach That’s HIV-Positive Arrested For Sexual Battery
A HIV-positive Lakeland High School track coach was arrested after he allegedly sexually battered a 16-year-old boy. Investigators are saying there could be multiple victims as they look into the situation more.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd had a lot to say about this issue during a press conference. He explained that a 16-year-old boy was taken advantage of and finally told his mother about the incident. Jarvis Young, 40, who was his track coach at the time inappropriately touched him they were together one Saturday afternoon. The boy’s mother instructed him to tell the school’s resource which he did that Monday. According to FoxNews13, detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office discovered that he not only sexually battered the teen but did it while being HIV-positive.
How did the high school coach sexually assault a 16-year-old boy:
It all started when the teen was working out during the summer and became sore. He wanted to be extra competitive, so he asked the coach for help. The victim was looking for strength training and speed but instead was taken advantage of while together. The coach picked up the teen and went to a Mexican restaurant. That’s when the coach talked the teen into going to his house to pick up weight equipment. Sheriff Judd said, “He tells the kid he is a trained massage therapist; he buys him lunch and he gives him equipment- we call that grooming.” The high school coach offered to give the victim a massage while they were picking up equipment at the school. Young then sexually battered the boy while massaging his hamstrings. The victim jumped up and requested that Young take him home immediately.
This isn’t Young’s first time being arrested for something similar. Back in 2011, Jarvis Young was arrested when he and another adult took two juveniles to a motel to have sex. He was charged with conspiracy to commit sexual battery on a juvenile. Sheriff Judd said, “He’s a classic predator, child predator. He’s a classic pedophile.”
