This particular bill had a very low serial number 2003, it was later flipped and resold for $4,000.
A list of expensive $2 bills and their description was posted by U.S. Currency Auctions online. They says that most of these uncirculated $2 bills are identifiable with red or brown seals. If you own one of these they can go for thousands. One good example is an uncirculated 1890 series $2 bill. This particular one has a brown seal and because of that it can be worth at least $4,500. A circulated $2 bill with a red seal won’t be worth as much but you’ll still make a good amount. If they have a red seal they can sell for $2.25 to $2,500. The U.S. Currency Education Program said, “there are 1.2 billion $2 notes in circulation.” The very first $2 bill was introduced back in 1775.
