Sadly, you read the headline right. "Florida man allegedly killed his wife and shot up his ex-girlfriends home." These incidents happened in the Apopka area which is about 2 hours from where I live in St. Petersburg.  The ex-girlfriend is now asking "Why?"

Cory Hill Has Been Arrested

Cory Hill who is accused of killing his wife Shakeira Rucker has been arrested. Not only did he allegedly kill his estranged wife but he also shot up his ex-girlfriend's home. His ex-girlfriend, Angel Milligan is still alive and says she considers herself lucky.

Sadly Hill's estranged wife was not so lucky. Shakeira Rucker was found dead inside of an Apopka storage unit over the weekend. Police believe Hill killed her then hid her body. Milligan say's she had no idea he was married when they were dating. Once she found that out, she broke off things with him in September.

Shakeira Rucker Was Last Seen Alive With Cory Hill

On Nov. 11, Rucker was reported missing. She was last seen with Hill at a Polk County restaurant. Just one day later, Hill showed up to Milligans home and started shooting  up the place.

Police say that Hill is the only suspect in Rucker's murder. Hill also has a long criminal past. Decades ago He was sentenced to 20 years in prison for second-degree murder. He got out and then in 2009 he was accused of assault and battery. Hill currently remains in the Orange County Jail without bond.

Angel Milligan released a statement saying: "Just having flashbacks of what happened that day, what could have happened." Milligan tells Fox 35, that she has yet to return to her home. She said she is still very scared and doesn’t want her children to see the house with bullet holes.

Hopefully Hill never see's the outside of prison walls ever again. I will keep you updated on this story.

Which Florida City Made The List With Highest Murder Rates In U.S.

There's lots to love about the Sunshine State, but we're also notorious for the craziest crimes. One Florida city even ranked in the top 15 for highest murder rates in America. It's not really a list we love to see Florida on, but we can't say we're not surprised with all the insane stuff that happens here.

Our friends at neighboorhoodscout.com ranked the top 30 cities in the country with the highest murder rates per 1,000 residents. They condensed their research by including cities with 25,000 or more people. They collected their data by the number of murders reported to the FBI to have occurred in each city, and the population of each city. The city population data comes straight from the US Bureau of the Census at the time of each analysis. For instance, the 2022 list population uses 2020 population figures. The 2021 list uses 2019 figures, and so forth.

There were 14 new cities making the list this year. "The newcomer on this list with the highest murder rate is Saginaw, MI. The number of murders in Saginaw more than doubled from the previous year." Thankfully (and surprisingly) only one Florida city was ranked in the research.

Here's the top 15 cities with the highest murder rate. Click here to see the full list.
