Health Advisory Issued For Two Tampa Beaches
Health Advisory issued for two Tampa Beaches! The weather is not that great, so I would hope people wouldn’t be swimming in them this holiday season. These beaches happen to be in Tampa which are both about 30 minutes form where I live in St. Petersburg.
Health Advisory Issued For Two Tampa Beaches
Today, the Florida Department of Health Issued a swim advisory for two Hillsborough County beaches due to fecal indicator bacteria.
The health department tells us they do not advise swimming and there is potential health risk at Ben T. Davis Beach and Picnic Island Beach in Tampa.
According to the Florida Department Of Health, water samples are being analyzed for enteric bacteria, which is usually found in the intestines of humans and animals. This may indicate fecal pollution. Such pollution is said to have come from pets and wildlife, storm water runoff or human sewage.
