Review: New Publix Hot Honey Chicken Tender Sub

I’m pretty much well known at the Publix right here on 4th Street in St. Petersburg. One of the employees even sent me a message last night on Instagram because she had not seen me shopping there in a couple of weeks.  I’ve been in and out of town, so I have not been cooking. It looks like I won’t be cooking again this week since the Publix hot honey chicken tender sub is on sale and I had to try it.

The Hot Honey Chicken Tender Sub Goes On Sale 3.21-3.30

I have never tried this sub before but it looks delicious! First of all the words hot and honey just make it seem as if the chicken tenders are going to melt in my mouth.  What Toppings Would You Get On The Publix Hot Honey Chicken Tender Sub?

On the regular chicken tender subs I usually just get provolone cheese and jalapenos. I know, sounds like pregnant lady cravings, right? On the hot honey chicken tender sub, I would probably just get pickles. I feel like getting too many toppings on this one would offset the taste. What do you recommend? My Review:

So this sub is supposed to come with mayo, hot honey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, your choice of cheese, and fried pickles. Well, my store didn’t have any fried pickles when I went to order. I actually had to try 2 different stores to find one with the hot honey sauce. Since they didn’t have fried pickles, I opted for the Boars’ Head garlic pickles instead. I also skipped the lettuce and tomato and added onions instead. It was super tasty, and was absolutely worth the 2 trips. The only thing is next time, I would skip the mayo and ask them to toss the tenders in the hot honey instead of drizzling on top. The hot honey is not too spicy and adds that perfect kick. 10/10 would recommend.

I have two favorites from Publix. My first love is the Boars Head Jerk Turkey. I don’t get it the way it comes however, I like it without the bacon. My second love is the chicken tender sub! Ranking The Best Tampa Publix Stores

Everybody has an opinion about SOMETHING! But we never would’ve thought to review a grocery store. It seems funny to rate a store that has the same items, specials, and prices. But hey, that’s what the internet is for, to voice your opinion. The Tampa area has an insane amount of Publix locations, so we’re going to rank the 25 most popular locations from best to worst based off of Google reviews. The locations range from Lutz to Temple Terrace, to Bayshore/Gandy. We say “ranking” but really each Publix store has over a 4-star rating. So no matter where you shop, you’ll more than likely have a pleasant experience.

Publix stores are scattered all around Tampa. It’s not uncommon to go out of your way to go your “better” Publix rather than what’s closer. We’ll admit we’re kind of guilty for this, but only when it comes to getting a Pub Sub. We just know there are some people at our usual Publix store that just have that special touch (or are able to roll a FAT wrap). There are also some Publix stores that don’t have a liquor store next to it. One common complaint you hear from someone who’s not visiting their normal Publix is that they have no idea where anything is. Every Publix has a different layout, so when you visit one that’s not your usual, it’s almost like stepping into another world.

How We Created The Publix Rankings.

According to the Publix website, there’s 20 Publix stores in and very near the Tampa area. Then we went to Google reviews to see how many that store has and what people were saying. If you usually go to the Publix off Bayshore, then you’re not going to go out of your way to Dale Mabry just because of a couple opinions. But if there is one in your area with a higher ranking, then maybe you can try it out!
