These 2 Florida Cities Are “On The Rise” In 2024
It’s no secret that people keep moving to the south. According to the U.S. Census, the South accounted for 87% of the country’s growth in 2023. A lot of that growth also took place in Florida. We have some of the fastest-growing cities in the region. According to a recent survey from Southern Living, 2 Florida cities are “on the rise” for 2024. These cities also have an exciting new project in the works to help grow their city even more.
Great weather, gorgeous beaches, unique restaurants, and Southern hospitality are just a few of the reasons people make the switch to the Sunshine State. Most cities that made the list are located in the Carolinas, so we were surprised only 2 Florida cities made the cut. How did Southern Living come up with this list? They compiled a large list of cities based on research and their own experiences. Then, their readers selected the top picks in the South Best Awards survey. The survey was fielded from July 12 to August 23, 2023, and had over 20,000 respondents.
Florida Cities That Are “On The Rise” In 2024
Other notable cities that made the list include Huntsville, Alabama, Franklin, Tennessee, and Wilmington, North Carolina. But which two Florida cities made the list?
North Port, Florida
North Port came in at #21 out of 25 on Southern Living’s list. This southwest Florida city was ranked the second fastest-growing U.S. city in 2023 according to a recent study. North Port was one of the cities that was badly damaged by Hurricane Ian, so they are still in the process of rebuilding some areas.
Palm Bay, Florida
The second Florida city to make Southern Living’s list is Palm Bay. Located in the space coast of Florida, this city is known for their saltwater fishing pier. They plan on adding a huge development. “Ashton Park is projected to add thousands of homes and about 5 million square feet of retail and commercial space to the area.”
