New Food And Experiences At Tropicana Field In 2024
There’s always been some great food at the Trop when you go to a Tampa Bay Rays game. Well for the 2024 season, they’re adding some new items to the menu. Some of the new menu items include a pretzel slugger dog. Additionally, there is an everything pretzel which absolutely sounds delicious. Finally, there are sweet pretzel bites. So, I’m seeing a theme here and a lot of it revolves around pretzels, which I have no problem with.
Other new foods at the Trop this year include a Chicken Salad Chick dedicated concession stand and Bird & Batter Express stand in Right Field Street. Plus other new creations like a Pretzel Pork Reuben (Slow-smoked pork pastrami/soft pretzel bun/house sauerkraut/mustard sauce) available at Pig & Potato.
Other Food At The Trop
There are other food at the Trop items such as a Korean corn dog, short rib cheese steak, and short rib nachos (made with Braised short rib/jack cheese sauce/scallions/house-fried potato chips/peppadew peppers). There is also going to be a gluten-free stand. This year called Gluten-Free Favorites. It will be located at The Porch in right field at Tropicana Field.
When you think baseball, you think a hotdog you think a cold soda maybe a cold beer. You sit down and watch a baseball game. That would be the food at the Trop that I get. Of course, Cracker Jacks are going to be there since you know there’s a whole song about peanuts and Cracker Jacks. So, you’ll definitely find those at the Trop as well.
Remember if you were going to the Trop for any Rays game this year they are cashless so make sure you bring a credit card to pay for your food at the Trop.
The Rays opening day is Thursday, March 28 when they take on the Toronto Blue Jays at the Trop. The first pitch that day will be at 4:10. The Rays is also announced some concerts happening after games this season. A few concerts are coming this season. You can see Jimmy Eat World on July 26, Riley Green on August 10, and T-Pain on August 16.
What Else Is New At The Trop This Year
The Rays also revealed that they will be playing on a new turf. The turf will be a striped field that will look like it has been mowed. They didn’t just throw away. The Rays actually donated 75,000 square feet of old turf to the City of St. Petersburg, Hillsborough County and other local groups to be used for soccer fields, batting cages and more. Additionally, there used to be rubber pellets, but now it will be coconut husks as the filler material. The warning track will have crushed walnut shells on the ground. The Rays are the only team in Major League Baseball that will be using the crushed walnut shells on the warning track.
Also new to Tropicana Field this year is an interactive experience only found at the Trop. Located field level near Gate 6 is an interactive batting cage called “Bat Around”. The arcade-style game will let fans test their hitting skills in a mixed-reality experience. There are 3 stages to the game that is expected to last about 90 seconds.
