The Fairgrounds Hosts Tampa’s Biggest Vintage Expo

As a huge fan of vintage clothing, I never thought it would be as big as it is now. Yes, those old band tees from the 90's, the wide-leg JNCO jeans, & old snapback hats have a market. For decades, fashion has always evolved, and at times rewound. Vintage is as big as it's ever been & The Fairground Flea event that went down at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa was a testament to that.

This past Saturday (April 6th), I DJ'd the 1st annual Fairground Flea event. Let me tell you, the minute I walked in, I knew there would be a good crowd but, man! I was amazed to see how many people came to be a part of this event. Some folks from right here in Florida, to people from Atlanta & New York, all looking to score some deals on vintage clothing.

There were so many options, and something for everyone. It was a one-stop shop for those that have hit their local thrift store and don't get as lucky as they'd hoped on the clothing they were looking to come up on. I loved the energy their, I got so much love that day for the vibes I was playing, & for the vintage bootleg tee I had on, it's way different from any other expo I've DJ'd or have been too.

Everyone was supporting one another, there were no attitudes when customers were bargaining deals with vendors, solid food & good drinks, it was a perfect environment. I use to go thrifting all the time, but now I think my obsession is back. There are some great thrift stores here in the Tampa Bay Area with awesome deals. Thrifting has always been a great resource to find cheap clothes and possibly find hidden treasures, but sometimes you have to go digging for gold. My advice is to always take your time in a thrift store, if you rush through the racks, you might miss out on some good finds. Stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army are great for finding home décor for super cheap, I always go there around the holidays to pick up some decorations.

Sunshine thrift stores has locations in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Brandon! According to some of their reviews, its hard to just go there for one thing. When you shop at Sunshine Thrift Store, you tend to leave out with a few items.

The Avalon Exchange started in 1988! They are a family owned buisness and provide a fun shopping experience right here in the Tampa Bay Area. If you are looking for a good deal on something vintage, Avalon Exchange is where you need to go. 

There are many Goodwill locations across the Tampa Bay Area, but one of the best is located in Brandon! The address is 1106 Brandon Blvd. As a child I would always go to Goodwill to get items for halloween costumes, or for the plays I was in! Check out this location, you won't be disappointed.

Red White And Blue Thrift Store Is located in Tampa. According to their website they have a sale everyday! 50% off select times.  They have an amazing selection and thousands of items arriving daily!

The Shabby Shack is located in Land O' Lakes and is a place where you can get great deals on antiques. Are you a collector? Well this is where you need to go!
