Florida Woman Found An Escaped Inmate In Her Back Seat
How often do you check the backseat of your car? It may seem like a weird question to some people, but if you paid attention in driving school or at least during the safety precautions portion, you would know that you must check it every time you enter the vehicle. If you didn’t before, this is your friendly reminder to do so. If not, hopefully, this story will, because this Florida woman found an escaped inmate in her back seat.
The Story
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by ClickOrlando, Lady Lake Police responded to a call at approximately 4:47 am about a possible vehicle burglary. The victim told police her vehicle alarm commonly went off because of the cats in her neighborhood, so she didn’t think anything of it when her alarm went off that night. However, when she went down to check the vehicle she was surprised by what she found.
The woman told police when she opened her vehicle, a man grabbed her arm. This caused the woman to scream, break the man’s grip, and retreat to her home where she armed herself till the police came. When the police arrived, the man tried to evade police but was ultimately caught and arrested. The story however doesn’t end there.
The 31-year-old man identified as Jesse Hall told police “he was dropped off by a friend named Joe to see a woman who lives in the neighborhood,”. He also told police that “stuff went down” which caused Hall to run and hide in the vehicle. That wasn’t the wildest part of the story though. After police confirmed Hill’s identity, they discovered that he was wanted. It turns out that in 2019, Hill was sentenced to seven years in prison for two counts of grand theft auto and several other drug-related charges, and he escaped custody on May 22nd. So Hall is back behind bars with no bond.
So remember people, don’t forget to check your backseat. You never know what you’ll find back there.
