Will Tampa Bay Honor Tom Brady Next?
What a night it was for the greatest quarterback of all time. Tom Brady is easily football’s G.O.A.T. The man from San Mateo, CA really overcame so much adversity. From being drafted 199th in the NFL Draft, to having so many questions about his QB build. It was all fuel to fire his champion mentality. Tom brought 6 Lombardi Trophies to Foxborough, MA during his 19-year run with the Patriots & 1 to Tampa Bay back in 2020.
Tom has earned his spot at the top as football’s most elite due to his huge dedication to the game and being better, and not settling for anything less than greatness. That TB12 mentality has earned him to have his jersey retired with the team that drafted him in 2000. The New England Patriots brought back their franchise savior and beloved quarterback to Gilette Stadium. A place where Tom has scored many touchdowns and made many comeback wins. June 12th from now on will be “Tom Brady Day” in the state of Massachusetts and to celebrate this glorious day for Brady a stadium full of 60,000 fans roared, not for a game but, for the man that helped turn a once suffering franchise into a dynasty.
Many former teammates, friends, and family members were in attendance for this special day, that was welcomed with a performance from the G.O.A.T of hip-hop, Jay-Z. Many people came to the podium to say a few words about Tom and the success he brought to New England, including owner Robert Kraft who gave a great speech. But it was Tom’s moment at the podium that really brought everyone in the stadium to shed a tear. It was a moment fit for the greatest of all-time.
The next question is, will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers be next to retire Tom’s number? Or even add him to their ring of honor after bringing the Bucs a 2nd championship in franchise history? What are your thoughts?
