Tampa Hosting World’s Largest Swimming Lesson:
Tampa Bay isn’t the only place that will be participating in this huge initiative. This is actually an event that is happening all over the place. The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is a global initiative that wants to help to prevent drowning amongst children. This event is annual so if you can’t make it today there will also be another time you can get free lessons. This is all thanks to the World Waterpark Association which first launched this in 2010.
Child drowning is unfortunately common and preventable with lessons at an early age. According to the World Waterpark Association, the leading cause of death in the U.S. for children ages 1-4 is drowning. And it’s the second leading cause of death for children ages 5-14. This wonderful event also promotes water safety and drowning prevention. They make it extra fun by offering giveaways, information on regular lessons, water safety tips. It’s important to keep your children safe in the pool. This free event will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 10-11 a.m with multiple locations to join the fun.
