Florida’s NBA Teams Look Add New Talent In NBA Draft
It is draft night in the NBA tonight (June 26th). It is the night NBA fans look forward to after the NBA Finals conclude. It is a night of hope and predictions, that the team you root for gets a player that can help them improve and go into the next season with some positive energy hoping their rookie can be the next LeBron James, Victor Wembanyama, or Paolo Banchero, able to contribute to the franchise right away. With the NBA draft also comes NBA draft busts. Some of the biggest NBA busts include names like Anthony Bennett and Kwame Brown, teams hope the don’t gamble on players like that.
Florida teams, the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat have been known to draft pretty well during this time, with the Magic being very successful at drafting players within the top 10, you look at their picks over the years, it’s been Shaq, Penny, Dwight & Paolo all becoming all-star caliber talent. Miami being able to find pieces that can help them. Last year, it was Jaime Jaquez Jr. who really flourished in his rookie year and was able to contribute right away for a franchise that has made the NBA Finals twice in the past 5 seasons.
The question tonight is who will the Magic and Heat draft this year in the 1st round? Both teams had great regular seasons and made the playoffs. Miami owns the 15th pick, while Orlando holds the 18th. Both teams look like they have their rotations in order but, is there some rookie that can come in and be an asset? The NBA.com mock draft has the Heat drafting Nikola Topic, a 6ft. 6in. point guard out of Serbia and then the Magic taking the 6ft. 2in. point guard out of Duke University in Jared McCain.
We will see who these respected franchises take, as tonight he draft happens tonight on ESPN at 8PM ET.
