New Service Coming To Disney World In July
Some big changes are happening at the happiest place on Earth, that could make park goers even happier. Walt Disney World made a huge announcement today and has made it clear that starting July 24th they will be changing up their Genie+ a Lightning Lane service. The new name for the service will be the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
For those who haven’t been to Disney in a few years, Genie+ and Lightning Lanes are additional add ons you can purchase to join the “fast lines” instead of waiting in the general queue. It’s extremely helpful for the more popular rides like Flight of Passage and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
According to ABC Action News, Disney World’s Lightning Lane now will become a single pass and this new variation to the current pass will grant you a reservation time for one of the major high-demand attractions, and you can purchase it ahead of time. So, starting July 24th this will all begin and prices for the Lightning Lane Multi Pass service will vary upon date.
I feel that this new change in service will be more beneficial to visitors of the park because with this new multi pass you can pick three Lightning Lane selections and choose a time to get to those attractions. Beats sitting in a line missing out on all the other things Disney World has to offer, with this you can schedule out your day in the park better. And if you’re staying at a Disney resort, you can schedule your Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance (3 days for all other guests).
So how much will it cost? Going to Disney is already a pretty penny and you want to be able to experience as much as you can. Prices for Lightning Lane Multi Passes vary by date and theme park. Prices for Lightning Lane Single Passes vary by date and attraction. Regular stand-by lines will still be available, and you can still occasionally join virtual queues via the My Disney Experience app.
