Tarpon Springs High School Teacher Arrested:
According to FoxNews13, once the Tarpon Springs Police Department was made aware of a possible inappropriate relationship they started investigating. James Collins, 39, a math teacher at Tarpon Springs High School had worked at the school since August 2023. They found that Collins and a Pinellas County Schools student did in fact have a relationship.
The Tarpon Springs Police Department reports, “Collins was arrested for computer pornography, prohibited computer usage, interference of child custody, lewd and lascivious battery, lewd and lascivious molestation, offense against students by an authority figure, tampering with physical evidence and traveling to meet a minor.” The student was in fact under the age of 16 at the time of the incident.
Hard to believe that another teacher was arrested for having a potential sexual relationship with a minor. Since Collins has been a Pasco County teacher for many years, they think there may be other victims. If you think you know of anyone who was close with Collins or may have any information, it’s important to call the police and help them with this investigation.
