The Oldest Restaurant In Florida Opened Up In 1905
The Columbia restaurant was founded in 1905 by Cuban immigrants. At first the Columbia had an original menu with specialties that included Cuban coffee and sandwiches. From there the menu evolved, in 2024 you can find devil crab croquettes that the customers love. In the 50’s and 60’s Ybor City was struggling but the Columbia restaurant stood the test of time by building the Siboney Room, where some of the top Latin entertainers of all times performed. The Columbia now has several restaurant locations throughout Florida. Definitely the place to go if you want the best authentic Cuban and Spanish food.
When I first moved to Tampa, someone took me on a date to The Columbia Restaurant. I had so much fun but sadly I no longer talk to the guy who took me there. Shout out to him though, for introducing me to this awesome place. The vibe was amazing and I had one of the best steaks ever! Have you been to the Columbia Restaurant yet? I want to hear about your experience. Email me [email protected]
The Oldest Restaurant In Every State
Foodandwine.com created a list where you can find the oldest restaurant in every state. I was born and raised in Michigan and the New Hudson Inn is the oldest restaurant in Michigan. It’s about an hour from downtown Detroit and it attracts bikers! They have the best beers, cheeseburgers and live music.
