Check Out These Dope Kicks From New Balance & Rapper Action Bronson
This year feels like the year of the running sneaker. For years, people have dubbed brands like New Balance, Asics, and Saucony the “dad shoe.” I remember in high school, no one would dare be caught wearing anything other than a Nike or Air Jordan sneaker. Crazy how times have now changed. Now, the “dad shoe” has become the popular shoe, and the retro Jordan’s that kids would camp out for or wait in long lines for are sitting on the shelf. How about that?
The king of the “dad shoe,” New Balance, has had quite the rise in the past couple years. It really started recently, because of their strong ties with rapper Jack Harlow, who is now sponsored by them. Jack brought new life and style to a brand that most kids wouldn’t be caught wearing. Now, multiple New Balance 550’s, 990’s, & 1906’s are stocked on shelves and worn daily. Before Jack, who is a rap superstar and movie star at this point. There was Action Bronson. The Queens rapper who built a great resume for years in hip-hop and, the host of his popular food show F*** That’s Delicious. Action Bronson’s style for years embodied the New York flavor and streetwear couture, and he would usually combine his ensemble with a pair of New Balance sneakers.
Fast forward to today, in a collaboration with New Balance that was long overdue, Bronson released his first couple pairs with the brand last year with two 990 V6 colorways, which I own by the way. Most recently, he dropped three 1906’s. One was a Friends & Family release and the other two were general releases but very limited. I managed to score on both pairs thanks to the Kith app raffles. And, instead of unboxing one pair, let’s check out both!
Let me know what you think of this collab with New Balance & Action Bronson.
