Rays Hit Homerun With New Stadium Being Approved
Some great news has come for our Tampa Bay Rays fans! After many years of planning & much anticipation, finally, a new ballpark for the Rays has been approved by the Pinellas County Commission. This state-of-the-art new development marks a big milestone for the team and will bring a whole lot of benefits to the Downtown Saint Petersburg area.
The new home of the Rays is set to be in the heart of St. Pete and is designed to offer a modern experience for baseball fans. It will be the premier spot for sports and entertainment. The stadium will have three decks and will seat around 30,000 fans and capacity being up to 34,000. Just like The Trop, this new stadium will have an artificial turf field but will feature a see thru roof.
The approval of this new ballpark is expected to have a great impact on the local businesses and people around the area. To add on to some of these benefits, the new baseball park will become a cornerstone of community life in St. Petersburg & Tampa. Surely, the new park will host many other events outside of baseball, including concerts, ect.
This long journey to securing a new ballpark for the Rays has been a lengthy one, which involved a lot of negotiations, there was even murmurs of the team moving, or spending half the season in St. Pete and the other half in Montreal, Canada. Thankfully, that is not the case anymore because that would have been devastating to Rays fans. Glad an agreement was made and the future for professional baseball is bright for The Bay area. I’m sure some great memories will be made to go along with some great baseball moments to look forward to.
As the Rays move into their new chapter, fans and St. Pete locals alike can anticipate the many opportunities and experiences that are to come in the new future at their new home. Stay tuned for updates as this cool new project keeps unfolding.
