Truck Driver Dead After Semi Veered Off Into The Canal On I-75
According to Fox News 13, A truck driver is dead after his semi veered off into the canal on I-75. Police say the driver lost control of his 18-wheeler which overturned into the Tampa Bypass Canal. We were not hit hard by Tropical Storm Debby in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area, but there has been a lot damage. Many accidents occurred including this tragic one which took a drivers life. The Hillsborough county fire and rescue responded to a call early this morning after an 18-wheeler lost control.
Truck Driver Dead After Loosing Control Of Semi-Truck
Officials arrived to the scene on 1-75 near MM 263 and found the semi-truck hanging off the guard rail with the cab still out of the water. 15 minutes later the cab was submerged into the water. Multiple units including dive teams arrived to the scene to try and save the driver. Sadly at 9 a.m. this morning, the HCFR confirmed that the driver was dead
The truck was recovered and was taken to a towing location for inspection. At this time we don’t know if there were additional victims in the truck. Praying for the victim’s family at this time.
