SZA Taking A Break From Performing… For Now

Everyone needs a break from their job from time to time. Even artists in the music industry. Making and performing music may seem fun to some, but the sad truth is it can be as physically taxing and demanding as “normal” jobs. Don’t believe me? Just ask SZA. Her schedule has taken such a toll on her, that SZA is taking a break from music… For now.

Why Is SZA Taking a Break?

The demanding pace of touring and performing, coupled with the pressures of maintaining a high profile in the music industry, has prompted SZA to prioritize her mental and emotional health. Just think about it. SZA has been going hard since early 2023. That’s a year of a grueling schedule that saw SZA perform 63 shows worldwide as part of her SOS Tour, followed by a busy summer of festival performances

SZA made the announcement on her X (Formerly Twitter) account on August 5th writing “Yesterday was my last show for a while . Finally bout to get my life together thank u God.”

Don’t worry though fans. Even though SZA said she’s taking a break, that only means from performances. You can still expect some new music to come your way real soon judging from her latest performances. During her set at Lollapalooza, not only did she debut a new song called “Cry Baby”, but she also hinted at an upcoming project called “Lana”. She also teased a possible collaboration with Paramore along with an announcement that SOS will be getting a Deluxe version.

If her success from her sophomore album is any indication on what is to come next, we are in for another great year from SZA. The Grammy-winning artist released SOS in December 2022, and has been a massive success with the album debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album has kept strong presence on the charts with songs like “Kill Bill” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2023.

SZA maybe taking this time to recharge and refocus, but her creative momentum continues.

Rich grew up in the Bronx, NY but moved to Tampa in 2006 to attend the University of Tampa. Even though he completed 4 years at the University for Sports Management, Ortiz realized his true passion for radio after taking a couple of classes to fulfill his communications minor and volunteering at UT's WUTT radio station as a sports director. From there, Rich worked his way up from Promotions assistant to promotions coordinator, to eventually full-time on-air.     This SZA look is so effortless. From the slightly messy curls, the oversized white cardigan, and the tan yet sparkly matching top and bottom, it’s very easy to recreate at home. Her makeup matches the two-piece with white eyeliner and a mix of both tan and white eyeshadow.

    We think it’s possible SZA looks good with any hair length. In this sexy shot, the singer wore a short haircut with a corset-esque styled t-shirt. She paired it with a tan mini-skirt and the look is nothing less than a chef’s kiss.

    SZA knew exactly what she was doing with this photo and it worked. The singer bent down in one of her signature poses wearing a matching blue bikini top and shorts. She elevated the outfit with a denim hat and flower-printed denim shoes.

    We’re not even going to lie…we audibly gasped when she posted this photo shortly after walking the stage at the Grammys this year. SZA wore a black cutout dress that was short in the front and long in the back. In her caption, she mentioned that she had such a good time at the award show. We did too, seeing her in this beautiful dress.

    The OG SZA fans know she broke Instagram when she posted this photo. It was the neon green hair for us (and the rest of social media). Her outfit is barely noticeable except for her black stripy shoes, but she proved with just the hair and her face card that’s all she needed.

    Who would have thought having mud on your face could be sexy? In promotion for her sophomore album SOS, SZA posted a photo of herself covered in mud. The singer wore a dark green crop top and matching pants that had the button open, revealing a bikini bottom. The grundy concept was a first for the singer but the risk made it one of her most sexiest posts.

    This photo is by far the most sexiest SZA currently has on her timeline. It is a screenshot from her song “PSA” which was initially expected to be the lead single to SOS. Not only did she never release the song prior to the album, the song is still in her vault and also did not appear on the final tracking list. While we only hear a snippet of the singer’s sultry vocals, the “PSA” teaser at least gave us a visual to gawk at in the meantime.
