Riverview Couple Followed & Shot After Winning $3,000 At Casino
This news is heartbreaking! A Riverview man and woman who had just won a jackpot at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa were followed and gunned down after three men followed them to their home. The couple were enjoying an evening out at the Hard Rock Casino Aug. 2 when they won $3,000 from a slot machine. They stayed at the casino to celebrate their winnings and walked around. After a little while later the pair drove home to Riverview and were followed by three men who attempted to rob them.

The pair were having a fun night out at the Hard Rock when they decided to try a few slot machines before leaving. To their delight, they hit big on one of the slot machines and won $3,000. They were extremely excited and wanted to celebrate their winnings but weren’t aware that dangerous people were watching. Lerking next to them were three men who witnessed their happiness and decided they were going to rob them of their winnings.
Marcus Jenkins, 34, and Tristin Wright, 36, followed the Riverview couple back to their home where they robbed and shot them multiple times. In the dramatic ring doorbell footage (below) you can hear the woman scream as her partner was shot in his right thigh and left knee. According to WFLA, “One of the suspects covered up the doorbell camera with his hand while the other could reportedly be heard demanding the victim take off his watch. Jenkins and Wright got away with the man’s watch and the woman’s purse, court records show.” Deputies reviewed surveillance footage from the casino and found the men following the two in the parking lot.
Police are still looking for the third person, who has not yet been identified. He was driving the car and seems to be in hiding. Jenkins is now being charged with multiple things including two counts of attempted murder in the first degree; two counts of robbery with a firearm and more. Wright is currently being charged with two counts of principal to aggravated battery, great bodily harm or deadly; two counts of principal to attempted murder in the first degree and more as well. The first mass shooting of 2024 happened in Pensacola on June 2nd. Nobody was killed but 4 people were inured. The second mass shooting happened on July 28th. 2 people were killed and 5 victims were injured.
