We have another Florida Lottery winner and this time the person is from A South Carolina. A man just claimed a $1 million prize from Feb. 1, 2023, at the Florida Lottery’s Tampa District Office. It goes to show you that even if you are driving through a state on vacation, it's worth buying a ticket while you fill up for gas. You never know who the next winner will be. $1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold At Florida Gas Station:

The newest winner of a $1 million Powerball jackpot is Floyd Horner, Jr., of South Carolina. He purchased a winning ticket from a gas station while he was traveling in the Tampa Bay area. He stopped off at a RaceTrac, located at 24224 US Highway 27 in Lake Wales. He just came back into town to claim his winnings by going to the Florida Lottery Tampa District Office. The RaceTrac received a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket which is standard for any establishment. Horner was lucky enough to match all five white ball numbers however he did not match the Power Ball number.

One of the most famous stories is about a janitor from Lakeland, Florida named Abraham Shakespeare who won a lump sum of $17 million. Shakespeare could barely read and write and ended up giving away a lot of his winnings over time. Dorice Donegan "Dee Dee" Moore befriended Shakespeare and became his financial advisor. Spending his money on a new million dollar house. She then killed shot him in the chest and buried him in the backyard. She then dumped a concrete lot on top of his body so police would never find him. She even faked writing letters to his mother to pretend that he was still alive. Dee Dee got life in prison for her terrible crimes. Coincidently, in 2017 Shakespeare's mother, Antionette Andrews won $1 million in a $20 scratch-off lottery game.
