Nicki Minaj Ditches Deluxe For New ‘Pink Friday 3’ Album
Nicki Minaj has announced that she will be abandoning plans for a “PF2 Gag City Reloaded” deluxe edition in favor of a new project, “Pink Friday 3.”
In a major update for her fans, Minaj revealed that she is moving away from the much-anticipated deluxe version of her Pink Friday 2 album, which was released in December 2023 and marked her first full-length album in five years. Instead, she is focusing on a new album to continue the Pink Friday series.
“Instead of doing a DELUXE to Pink Friday 2, I’ve decided to do a brand new album. I’ll still incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The “anxiety” song] for the remainder of the tour tho…and I’ll announce the new date within the next couple weeks. The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album,” Nicki Minaj tweeted.
She went on to explain why Pink Friday 2 holds a special place in her heart, highlighting its significance in her discography.
“PF2 means so much to me. As my 1st album as #PapaBear mama, it’s just very special to me for so many reasons you guys aren’t aware of. I put every song on there in a specific order, etc. So to honor that, I’m going to give it the respect & integrity it deserves as a beautiful body of work & not add anything else to it. 1 or 2 songs is no big deal but 5-7 songs feels a little sloppy right now (In my humble opinion),” Minaj added.

Reactions from fans on X were mixed, with some expressing disappointment over the change and others embracing it. “Nobody even wanted Pink Friday 2,” one person wrote, while another fan suggested, “Let go of the pink stuff and do a new era already.”
Support for Minaj was also evident, with fans sharing their excitement and concerns about the new album. “Please be like the OG Pink Friday,” one fan wrote. Another person speculated, “Just because Cardi’s dropping soon she has to think fast.”
One fan emphasized the significance of the upcoming album, stating, “The way this album and especially its rollout will make or break her legacy.”
Currently, Minaj is on tour. According to Billboard’s Boxscore, her Pink Friday 2 Tour had sold approximately 439,000 tickets as of May 16, grossing $67 million and becoming the highest-grossing rap tour by a woman in Boxscore’s history.
