4 Years Later A Florida Teen Was Pronounced Dead After The Hurricane
This story is very tragic, but I know his family is happy that they finally have closure. “4 years later a Florida teen was pronounced dead after the hurricane.” This incident happened in Hallandale Beach, which is about 4 hours from where I live in St. Petersburg. Back in 2013 Rodelson Normil decided that he wanted to go for a swim. Sadly a riptide pulled him into the open sea. His body was never found until, 2017 due to Hurricane Irma.
Hurricane Closed A Cold Case
In 2013 Rodelson Normil’s body was never found after he was pulled into the open sea by a riptide. According to his father, he had just got his pilot license and he was afraid that he would never be able to use it. His father also told Fox 29, that his son did not know how to swim and that it was only his second time at the beach. All hope was held out and his family remained positive that they would find his body. After a week, the coast guard suspended the search for Normil’s body.
In 2017 Hurricane Irma happened. After the hurricane a human bone washed up on the shore. The femur was taken to a laboratory in Texas for identification. Scientist then extracted genetic material from his parents and they were able to match it to his DNA, confirming that it was Rodelson Normil. The case was finally closed as an accidental downing. Praying for his family and im glad they were able to get closure.
