St. Pete’s Fresh Rags Teams Up With Sperry For “Pirates in Paradise” Collab
Pinellas Park clothing store Fresh Rags has partnered with Sperry to release an exclusive new shoe (the first of its kind) and capsule collection called “Pirates in Paradise.” This collaboration is a true homage to pirate culture, and the sunny beach vibes of Florida.
The focus of the collection is the “Pirates in Paradise” shoe, a stylish design that blends Sperry’s classic, boat-shoe silhouette with a heightened sole, and some serious pirate flair. Every detail has been thoughtfully put together to tell a story, from the sting ray print upper to the packaging of the shoe. Hidden pirate-themed Easter eggs are can be found on the shoe, including subtle skull and crossbones motifs on the side of one of the two colorways, and a gold coin design on the heel tab. The shoe’s color palette, features one black pair and the other colorway being a cream. I was fortunate enough to be blessed with 2 pairs thanks to the brain trust in designing the shoe and capsule, Michael Bickel and Jaise Rizzo.
Fresh Rags went beyond just creating a cool shoe. They designed an entire capsule collection that includes matching apparel, such as a cool silk button down, rugby jersey, and hats, all complimenting the pirate-inspired shoes and featuring a bold, vintage-inspired design. Whether you’re setting sail for a chill day out or looking for something swanky for a night out in downtown Tampa or St. Pete, this collaboration offers the perfect balance of comfort, style, and razzle dazzle.
