The Tampa Convention Center snagged eight major awards and pumped $147.1 million into the local economy in 2025. ConventionSouth crowned it Best of the Best Convention Center. That's a big deal — it marks the venue as a top pick for corporate events, conventions, and association gatherings across the Southern United States.
Over 280,000 people poured through the doors during 87 events in 2025. This flood of visitors kept thousands of hospitality workers busy and kept the meetings sector humming.
"Being selected as the Best of the Best is a true testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire team and valued service partners," said David Ingram, Executive Director, according to FOX 13 News. "From planning to execution, every event we host is powered by our staff and partners, who help make Tampa a standout destination for event managers and planners worldwide."
Eight honors. That's what the venue claimed, including a Readers' Choice award from ConventionSouth and Best Convention Center in the Southeast U.S. by Northstar Stella Awards. Add in a Smart Stars Award from Smart Meetings, Tampa's Best Awards, and the International Explorer Awards.
These accolades put Tampa on the map for meeting planners and event managers nationwide. Judges looked at service quality, how staff performed, and whether the venue could handle events from start to finish.
That $147.1 million came from hotel stays, restaurant bills, transportation, and other services attendees used while in town. The 280,000 visitors showed up for trade shows, association meetings, and a bunch of other gatherings.
The center has woven itself into Tampa's hospitality backbone. It teams up with service partners year-round, giving meeting planners the space and support they need.
