KFC has rolled out its new venture, "Saucy by KFC," aiming to expand its presence with multiple spots in Tampa Bay. They're looking to boost their share in the chicken dining scene.

Saucy by KFC brings a fresh spin, focusing on personal choices with a menu centered around tenders. It features crispy chicken tenders paired with a variety of unique sauces. This reflects a trend towards simpler and more focused menus.

The menu includes chicken tenders, sandwiches, and sides. While it uses KFC’s classic chicken, there's a focus on custom sauces and fast, tech-driven service.

Saucy promises service in under four minutes, using AI to streamline orders. Its tender-focused menu aims for speed while keeping flavor.

Sauce options range from sweet mirin and soy to spicy mango chutney. Customers can mix and match these to create one-of-a-kind meals, echoing KFC's original 11 herbs and spices.

Saucy by KFC also boasts an extensive drink menu. Teas, freezes, and other refreshments complement the tenders. This wide beverage selection sets Saucy apart from typical KFC spots.

Starting in Orlando, Saucy will now expand into Tampa Bay. Orlando was the starting point for this concept's launch.

KFC's Chief New Concept Officer, Christophe Poirier, remarked that "my competition is boredom," highlighting the brand's appeal to younger guests. Saucy is "a lot SAUCY-ER than ordering at the counter," pushing flavor and convenience.

Poirier added, “Many brands offer tenders. But by leading with the side items – the sauces, sides and desserts? That’s different." Saucy marks KFC's entry into the "chicken chain wars," aiming to tackle fast-casual chicken with its sauce focus.

Saucy was developed swiftly, taking only 322 days from planning to launch. Yum! Brands, KFC’s parent company, says this quick rollout shows flexibility to changing customer preferences.

Using tech from Flybuy, kitchen staff prepare orders based on customer locations and prep times. This aims to enhance drive-thru and curbside operations.

Saucy's arrival in Tampa Bay signals a strategic move into Florida. Though specific locations and timelines are still under wraps, the expansion showcases a strong effort to grow the brand in the area.

KFC seeks to attract younger, tech-savvy diners who appreciate quick service and bold flavors. The concept aims to redefine fast-food chicken with its creative approach.
