St. Pete Italian Fest comes back Saturday, May 16, at Vinoy Park. Doors open at 11 a.m. The party runs until 7 p.m. Local vendors will serve up authentic dishes while bands perform and classic cars gleam under the sun.

Find it at 701 Bayshore Dr. NE. This year marks the third time the city has hosted this celebration, according to I Love the Burg.

Hungry guests can grab pizza, pasta, lasagna, cannoli, and gelato from vendors scattered across the grounds. Wine tastings? Check. Craft cocktails? You bet. Top Italian bands will fill the air with sound all day long.

The car show brings exotic machines and vintage automobiles to the waterfront. Art exhibits will showcase the Italian heritage that shaped so many communities.

Young ones won't get bored. Activities and games will keep them busy. Kids under 10 get in free.

Tickets run $15 if you buy ahead, $20 at the entrance. Snag advance tickets at stpeteitalianfest.com.

Eight hours of programming await visitors to this waterfront park. Food, entertainment, and those gorgeous automobiles have made this a must-see on the city's annual calendar.

May arrives before brutal summer heat descends on Tampa Bay. Smart timing means guests can enjoy outdoor fun without melting.
