Halloween On Central Returns To St. Petersburg

With the spooky season upon us, there are many events people are looking forward to. Of course, there are those pricey theme parks, some haunted houses, and even some "possessed" woods, but there is one event that has been one if not my favorite for the last couple of years. Let me introduce you to "Halloween On Central". Halloween On Central Halloween on Central is set to return for its fourth annual celebration on Sunday, October 27 in Saint Petersburg. Stretching along nearly two miles of Central Avenue, from 31st Street to Dr. MLK Jr. (9th) Street, the event offers a unique opportunity for festival-goers to explore the heart of St. Pete in a pedestrian-friendly environment. With no car traffic, attendees can enjoy the festivities while reconnecting with local businesses, making it a fun and healthy way to spend the day. Admission is free, and leashed pets are welcome to join in the celebration with everyone else from noon till 5 pm. The event features a variety of activities, including street performers, live entertainment, music, family games, and opportunities to explore the shops, restaurants, and pubs along Central Avenue. Attendees can also enjoy food truck hubs, trick-or-treating, candy stops, and costume contests. For dog lovers, there will be wiener dog races and even a dog costume contest if you (and your pet) wish to participate. Additional children’s activities and local vendors will ensure there's something for everyone to enjoy. Attendees can also enjoy a DJ, spooky-themed entertainment, candy stations, and more. Costumes are encouraged, adding to the festive atmosphere of the day. “This event has quickly become a St. Pete staple. With over 100,000 attendees the last few years, it’s the perfect all-community gathering,” said Roger Curlin, Executive Director of the EDGE Business District Association. “Now in its fourth year, this event allows kids to be kids and adults to feel like kids again. We know visitors and residents from all over the county will enjoy St. Pete’s biggest Halloween celebration.” Halloween on Central is a must-attend event for anyone looking to experience St. Pete’s community spirit in a fun and festive way, making it the perfect Halloween celebration for the whole family. So get those costumes ready! If you don't have one yet, you have till October 27th to get one. For more information, go to halloweenoncentral.com.
