Orlando & The Freakshow

It’s seems like Boomers and Millennials are always going back and forth about the correct way to do things. It’s no secret that Boomers grew up in a time but now a days things are totally different especially when it comes to work. If you’re age 50+ then technology and social media didn’t exist when they were growing up. Although, Boomers have great advice to pass down to Millennials, some of it is out dated and antiquated. To put it bluntly, Boomers grew up learning things that millennials simply do not need to know now. Investing.com says Baby Boomers and Millennials are two distinct generations that have contrasting characteristics, values, and experiences. Mainly because of the time periods in which they were born and raised.

Difference between a Boomers and Millennials:

Baby Boomers are born between 1946 and 1964 and are the generation post-World War II. They lived through a period of economic prosperity and social change. Boomers are commonly attributed to hard work, loyalty to their employers, and responsibility. Many of them grew up with a traditional family structure, including stay-at-home moms and value job stability. Many Boomers have been with the same company for their entire careers. Boomers also tend to embracing traditional values and institutions leaving change to be difficult for many.

On the other hand, Millennials, were born between the early 1980s and the mid-1990s. They were raised during a time of rapid technological advancements and globalization. When they were children there was still no internet but as they grew up they were slowly introduced to technology, video games and social media. This generation still remembers what it’s like to not have any access to the internet while using the advantages of the internet. Millennials are known for their entrepreneurial spirit, valuing work-life balance, and seeking meaningful careers. The list includes things that Boomers still find important, but Millennials say are completely obsolete. A simple example would be Boomers suggesting to take a typing class or balancing your checkbook.
