We love to eat out these days especially since groceries have gotten too expensive. Sometimes it actually costs the same amount to cook at home as it does to order food from a local restaurant but you might be shocked to find out that some of your favorite places didn’t pass their first health inspection for 2023. The Florida Department of Health checks Hillsborough County restaurants every 6 months. Although, if you pass inspection they may check less frequently especially if you only sell coffee or prepackaged foods.
These places were given warnings for their initial inspection, but were able to correct any violations with a follow up inspection. We wanted to give an update for one of the restaurants on the list that has since resolved their issues. A representative of Donovan’s Steak House in Riverview has informed us that they did pass their follow up inspection on March 31, 2023
You might be surprised to see which of your favorite restaurants are on the list! We scrolled down and found a few that we usually go to as well. It’s not uncommon for restaurants to be on this list but as long as they fix the issue we’ll absolutely eat there again. Some of the violations are pretty basic and are resolved at the time of the inspection. Here are some of the 133 restaurants that didn’t pass the first inspection.
