Going to a U-pick fruit farm is such a fun activity for the entire family. There are plenty of strawberry, blueberry, and even peach orchards around the state of Florida you can visit. It’s a fun activity for the entire family! I’ve personally made my own jellies, and pies and they came out absolutely delicious!
Additionally, one of the best parts about going to a U-pick fruit farm is the price! The money goes straight to the family who owns the farm, making it more affordable than the grocery store. In Florida, you can pick strawberries, cherries, blueberries, veggies, sunflowers, raspberries, peaches, blackberries, pears, apples, and pumpkins. They’re all delicious and it’s very helpful to the farms that you go out and pick them yourselves.
I personally discovered these fabulous U-pick fruit farms during the pandemic here. I needed an excuse to get out of the house and do something fun with the family. That’s when I started reading about all these different farms all over the Tampa Bay area where you could pick your own fruit and flowers. At the time it was perfect because we’d then go home and bake a pie or make our own jams. I could teach the kids how to find the best fruit while walking the fields and how to cook afterward. We always took a lot of photos and it makes for great memories now looking back at photo albums.
