If you’re new to Tampa, Florida then you might not know how dangerous this state can actually be. These bugs listed below exist and don’t be surprised when you run into one. If you end up seeing a black widow spider you probably know to get out of that area or at least get rid of it so it doesn’t harm anyone. But, some of these bugs actually look super cute like the Io Moth Caterpillar. Their spines break off and embed themselves inside you skin which causes skin causing irritation until the barb is removed by a doctor. Don’t sleep on this list of Florida bugs that can kill you.

  • Red Fire Ant

    These horrible red ants are such a nuisance and hurt so bad when they bite! Be careful because they can actually kill you if you get swarmed by them.

  • Mosquito

    Mosquito bites are the absolute worst! They carry some digusting diseases like the West Nile virus or encephalitis. And let’s not forget you can also get Chikungunya and Zika viruses including malaria.

  • Southern Black Widow

    If you see one of these run! They can kill you with just one untreated bite.

  • Saddleback Caterpillar

    He might look cute but don’t touch it! The venom on those spines can actually destroy tissue in your body.

  • Wolf Spider

    This is the thing made of nightmares. Their bite does suck but at least it’s not deadly poisonous.
