I have super bad allergies. I even went on the radio here in Tampa and asked my audience about allergy medicine they recommend. Where you live may play a big part in how bad your allergies are. If you have Pollen allergies there are some cities that are harder for you to live in. Im shocked that my city, St. Petersburg didn’t make top 10 on this list.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America went though data of 100 of the most populated U.S. metropolitan areas to determine were the Allergy Capitals are in 2023. Here are the factors they determined when creating this list:

  1. How often over-the-counter allergy medicine is used
  2. Tree, grass and weed pollen scores
  3. Availability of board-certified allergists and immunologists

Wichita, Kansas came in at number one! Below are the Florida cities that made top 10 when it comes to cities where it may be harder for residents with allergies to avoid flare-ups.  I use to live in one of these Florida Cities. Do you have any over the counter allergy medicine recommendations? Email me: [email protected]

  • Sarasota

Out of the top 10 cities, Sarasota comes in at #6 on this list. I drive though Sarasota a lot but have never personally hung out there. It’s not far from St. Petersburg where I live and yes my allergies are horrible!

  • Cape Coral

Cape Coral comes in at #7 on this list. I lived there and would have to have humidifiers all through my apartment. I would take a Zyrtec everyday and it still wouldn’t help me.

  • Orlando

Orlando Florida is home of the best amusement parks and apparently pollen! Orlando comes in at #8 on this list.
